Course overview

The first lecture is all about achieving natural photographs of babies and children of all ages. There is a particular method I use all of the time for getting happy, natural looking pictures. The different techniques relating to this method are explored and illustrated, as I show you photographs I have taken using each technique. The photos are mostly the finished product which were used commercially and there are some behind the scenes shots showing you how I achieved the pictures.

Meet David Handley

As an artist and photographer, his father encouraged David throughout his childhood to engage in both subjects. David's keen interest led him to Art School and University, where he gained a degree in 'Photography and Design'. After graduation he spent numerous years assisting various photographers, travelling the globe on photographic assignments. For the last 12 years he has specialised in children's fashion for commercial and editorial clients worldwide such as Mini Boden, Ralph Lauren, Mothercare, M&S and Next. "Working with children is very unpredictable, energetic and fun, which makes it very rewarding. I love working with kids, in fact I used to be one!". David has also lectured at Central St Martins University of Arts in London and now this online course. He has also been indulging in some acting, with small roles in major movies such as 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and 'Harry Potter'. David is a multi-award winning photographer who was given the prestigious title of 'Sony World Fashion Photographer'.

Course description

Child and baby photographer (and parent) David Handley teaches you how to take brilliant photos of your baby and children in this online photography course.

David shows you step by step how to compose shots, handle cameras, take portraits, and even photograph children in a work capacity. David also goes on to reveal many secrets he's learnt during his career working with children to create beautiful natural looking portraits.

You will learn how to take beautiful artistic photographs of your kids - from newborn babies to teenagers from one of the greatest child photographers in the world.

You'll need:
